- a 'Collaboration Bear' ( Initiated by 'The bear lady at Forbes' - Joan Neowhouse, and completed in remembrance by Emma's Bears following her passing).

This is a whole new range of bears by Emma's Bears. They are an eclectic assortment of bears in all shapes and sizes, and all types of fur, in various states of completion, and cut from patterns and designs that are unknown/unfamiliar to us. We've taken on these initiated teds after their original crafter passed away, and her family were unsure what should happen to all her unfinished work.

'Merlot' is INCREDIBLE! As soon as I pulled her pieces from the bag she was in I was in love! She is made from a real fur (fur on leather). I am not 100% sure what kind of fur - but it is ridiculously silky soft to the touch, incredibly dense and has the gorgeous 'guard hair' fluffy look to it! I would say it has been dyed the rich, dark crimson/'red wine'/nearly black colouring it has (though I could be wrong!?) The photos DO NOT show the colouring correctly. The bear is a lot richer in tone and the rose collar is a single deep-royal purple (not the two-tone look it shows in the photo).

Merlot is fully jointed, stuffed with polyfill and steel shot, has matching faux suede paw pads and nose insert and looks out through a pair of our OOAK hand painted glass eyes in teal and lilac and silver. Her nose is hand embroidered and she wears a lampwork glass pendant in black and blue.

Merlot is a One of A Kind bear. She comes with identification tags.
