Angelika found a dusty red suitcase in her grandmother’s attic. Inside lay a threadbare teddy bear with button eyes, a ruffled collar, and a small wooden heart button on its chest. Behind it, an old photograph of a wooden cabin rested against the lid.

Curious, she brought the bear downstairs. Her grandmother’s eyes welled with tears as she cradled it.

“Oh, my dear,” she whispered. “This was your grandfather’s. He gave it to me when we were children. I thought it was lost forever.”
