“Barnaby” is a 10” panda bear sewn from recycled vintage badger muskrat fur and Kalinsky mink. Badger muskrat fur is a lovely creamy white fur tipped with orangey red and is very soft and beautiful. The Kalinsky mink‘s russet color matches the muskrat’s tips, creating a beautifully co-ordinated panda bear. Barnaby’s inset muzzle is white mohair, tipped with the same colored russet tips as you can see in the pictures and is shaped into a mustache. Badger muskrat fur (sometimes called bleached muskrat or Basserick) was popular in the 60’s and 70’s and hard to find now.
Barnaby is fully lined for strength and five way jointed so head, arms and legs all move. He is stuffed with both polyester stuffing and plastic pellets and comes with an adoption certificate stating that he is an original creation by myself, Wendy Shelby.
