This is my Burrowing Owl Mariachi Band complete with musical instruments and sombreros!
Inspired by characters from the animated cult classic "Rango" - another one of my favorite movies! If you haven't watched it yet - you should! It's very different and so cleverly done.
This foursome was so much fun to recreate! First I had to be sure I could get the instruments in the size I needed, then I needed to make 4 identical sombreros, which were created using wet felting techniques, tinting, embroidery, and beadwork.

Birds can be a challenge to create with chubby bodies and stick thin legs. Then add musical instruments they have to hold onto - you get the gist. I love a challenge though - it's all fun!
These birdies sold before I could even list them - they are already in their new home with their new mum! I do love my collectors! They are what drives me!
