I am glad to present you a new collection of teddy bears "Alfonso and his friends". My new collection of teddy bears will include copies of all unique colored bears produced by the “Steiff“ factory 100 years ago. Hurry up to choose yours!

2. Elliot Bear.

This bear is the brother of "Alfonso". He was one of the bears that «Steiff» sent to England in 1908 as a prototype for Harrods, London's central store. The company set up an experiment: how much will be the demand for colored mohair bears? At that time, it was bold, since the society was rather conservative and all new items were perceived ambiguously. And so it happened with the blue bear - it was either unnoticed or rejected by buyers.

So what happened to the blue bear next? He returned from England to his homeland in Germany, in Gingen, and was sent to the "Steiff" store, where he remained in the box until 1993. Perhaps that is why it has survived so well to our time. In 1993 (85 years later!), The firm put the bear up for auction at Christie's, where it made a real sensation: the bear was unique, since Steiff had no longer sewed blue bears since 1908. Of course, the bear was immediately bought and at a high price - 49,500 British pounds, the owners of the bear were a couple of bear lovers from Canada. The bear was named "Elliot".
And in 2009, 100 years after the original Elliot was born, «Steiff» released a commemorative replica of this bear in a circulation of 1908 copies.

The classical Teddy technology has been used to design the teddy.

The teddy is stuffed with sawdust. The belly is filled with mineral granulate to add some nice heaviness. There are 5 snap pins. The teddy bear is approx 10 inches (25 cm) tall.
