My name is Melanie Meulenberg-Ansems, and I am an award-winning, self-taught soft-sculpture artist. I live in the most southern part of the Netherlands. I started sculpting when I was just 9 years old. I worked with polymer clay (FIMO/ Cernit/ Super Sculpey) for more then 15 years until I got some unfortunate problems with my hands which made it hard for me to work with clay. Not able to sit still or do nothing I started making mini-crochets figurines. In 2009 I started my first attempt in sewing a soft-sculpture animal. I drew my own pattern and made my first dog handbag. A little while later my first (smaller) soft-sculpture tiger called ‘Toby’ was born. Since them many more have been born.
I use several techniques and materials for my creations, like (felting) wool, fabric, mohair, faux fur, epoxy clay and polymer clay. . My creations are handmade and one of a kind. They are all made with lots of love, care and attention to detail. They will come with a tag and a certificate.
Unfortunately I can't keep all my little darlings to myself and I will have to put some of them up for adoption.
I hope you enjoy looking through my gallery and maybe you will find one of my darlings you would like to adopt and give a lovely home.
